Nipun Bharat Yojana
The Nipun Bharat Yojana has been launched by the Ministry of Education on 5 July 2021. The full name of this scheme is National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy. An enabling environment will be created through this scheme. Through which basic literacy and numeracy knowledge can be provided to the students. Through the Nipun Yojana, by the year 2026-27, every child will be provided the ability to learn reading, writing and arithmetic by the end of the third grade. This scheme will be implemented by the Department of School Education and Literacy. NIPUN Bharat Mission School Education Program will be a part of the overall education. Under the Nipun Yojana, the government’s effort is to make the children literate from class 3 to 6. Being literate means that children should acquire the ability through which the students can be able to read, write, speak and interpret. Along with this, they can acquire the ability to use basic numerical methods and analysis to solve day-to-day problems. On the basis of this basic literacy and numeracy, the student can acquire any knowledge or education in the future. Let us inform you that this knowledge of basic literacy and numeracy is to be acquired by children especially till grade-3.
Through NIPUN Bharat, basic literacy and numeracy will be developed among the students of third class. So that in the coming time they do not have to face any obstacle in getting education. Apart from this, the following areas will also be given attention under the Nipun scheme. Health of children Physical development Exercise and sports Aspects of hygiene Keeping things, toys etc. in an organized manner Social and emotional progress of children etc. Making children effective communicators Under school based assessment, making the mother tongue of the children the language of the communicator so that they can put their point in front of the communicator.

The objective of the Nipun Bharat Yojana is to develop basic literacy and numeracy knowledge among students. Through this scheme, by the end of the third grade by the year 2026-27, the student will have the ability to learn reading, writing and arithmetic. The objective of the Nipun Bharat Mission is to impart basic literacy and numeracy knowledge to students of class 3 to class 6. So that the foundation of their education can be strengthened. It is necessary to have strong basic knowledge. Even today, to increase the level of education of children studying in grade 3 and to develop their overall mentality, it is necessary that they should be made proficient in basic education and its curriculum as per the demand of today. This scheme will prove to be very effective for the development of children. Through the Nipun Bharat Yojana, children will now be able to acquire basic literacy and numeracy knowledge on time. Which will lead to their mental and physical development. NIPUN Bharat will be operated by the Department of Education and Literacy. This scheme will be a part of the school education program Samagra Shiksha. This scheme has been started under the New Education Policy. Through the Nipun Bharat Yojana, children will also be able to understand the logic of the field of numbers, measurements and shapes.
Objectives of the Mission:
• To explain the logic in the field of numbers, measurements and shapes to children; and enable them to solve problems through numeracy and spatial understanding skills.
• To ensure the availability and effective use of high quality and culturally relevant teaching materials in the children’s familiar/home/mother tongue or languages.
• To focus on continuous capacity building of teachers, principals, educational resource persons and education administrators.
• To actively engage with all stakeholders i.e. teachers, parents, students and policy makers to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
• Ensuring assessment for learning through portfolios, group and collaborative work, project work, quizzes, role plays, games, oral presentations, short tests etc.
• Monitoring the learning levels of all students
• Motivating children to understand the reading and writing skills in a sustainable manner, making them independent and competent in writing styles
• Ensuring an inclusive environment in the classroom by incorporating play, discovery and activity-based pedagogy, engaging children in daily life situations and formally incorporating children’s home languages.
